Take Me Home Tuesday - Chai

Alison Toerner

Just look at that sweet face!  Chai is a 12 week old pittie mix adoptable through Adore-A-Bull Rescue in Cincinnati, OH.  As I feature a different rescue each week for Take Me Home Tuesday, I just love learning about each one.  I love to learn about the great things these organizations are doing and share them with you!  So as I was researching Adore-A-Bull, I came across their great mission statement and thought what a perfect thing to share.

Our Mission: Our mission to save pit bulls begins with rescue of the neglected, abused, and misunderstood.  Through our caring fosters we nurture and rehabilitate.  Through our voice we educate and change minds.  Through our work we match companions to families.  Our mission will never end.

This rescue, in the heart of my hometown of Cincinnati, has quite the following.  I was floored to see that their Facebook page has over 85,000 followers! Simply amazing.  So learn more about sweet Chai who is up for adoption, and others too over on their website.  Their website is one of the best rescue websites I've come across and they have such creative promotions to help raise funds for their organization. Check them out!

Take Me Home Tuesday - Buster

Alison Toerner

Aw Buster! He had to have his eye removed recently and it is healing really well.  He is up for adoption through Frankie's Furry Friends located in Alexandria, KY.  He sounds like just a laid back guy, loves nap time and tv time and just following you around the house.  Let's help Buster find his forever home, please share!

Frankie's Furry Friends is a great rescue and can always use donations.  Their main focus is giving small breed dogs that are either from puppy mills or shelters a second chance at life!

Take Me Home Tuesday - Francesca

Alison Toerner

Francesca, isn't she just stunning?!  I will say, the photography that Stray Animal Adoption Program (SAAP) has is just beautiful! Kuddos to that professional photographer volunteer there!

Francesca is a 1 year old medium haired Calico. She has an unusually beautiful face with almond shaped eyes. She has 4 white paws that adds to her charm. Francesca is a regal kitty that is friendly, curious and will be a good companion to another cat in the house. Can be introduced to a gentle dog.  To learn more about Francesca, click here.

SAAP is very active over on Facebook, so check them out, give them a like and think about sending a donation or volunteer some time.  Good stuff going on at SAAP!

Take Me Home Tuesday - Chaplin

Take Me Home Tuesday - Chaplin is up for adoption

Each week I like to help out one of the great animal shelters or rescues that I have gotten the chance to learn about and post about one of their animals that are up for adoption.  My hope is that you will share, share, share!  Let's help find Chaplin a home this week!

Chaplin is a 10 month old Shih Tzu mix.  He came into Animal Friends Humane Society located in Hamilton, Ohio near Cincinnati on 2/10/15.

Chaplin, where are your pretty eyes?! Maybe a little haircut would do the trick.  For more information about Chaplin and Animal Friends Humane Society, click here!

Have A Rescue You Want Me To Feature?
I'm always looking to learn about other great rescues throughout the country so comment below if you have one to share and I'll try to feature them! Thanks!

Frank sent me some adorable dog selfies!

To say I'm in love is an understatement. Earlier this week, Rachel & Frank received their custom order pet portrait from Ali's Paw Prints in the mail.  I asked Rachel just to send me a picture when she received so I can make sure everything turned out alright with printing and shipping.  I woke up Wednesday morning and she had tagged me on Facebook in all of these ADORABLE 'Frank Selfies'!  I was just tickled pink!

Thank you very much for taking the time to send and share Rachel, and I'm glad that you, Frank, and new hubby (congrats!) love your final portrait.  Enjoy the rest of the photos below.

Do you see how Frank even has his paw holding onto the canvas?!

Take Me Home Tuesday - Peanut is up for adoption

Take Me Home Tuesday - Helping Dogs & Cats Up For Adoption Find Homes

This week's featured pet is Peanut from Recycled Doggies in Cincinnati.  He's a 9 year old Yorkie.  His owner passed away.  Each time the dreaded day comes that I lose a pet, my mother has always made an amazing point.  We are their whole world!  She always thinks of the other perspective and just how lost our dogs or cats would be if we were to leave them first.

Peanut bounced around to different family members, but never found a permanent home.  Please share and help me find sweet Peanut a home!

Learn more information about Peanut.

Recycled Doggies is any amazing rescue in Cincinnati, OH.  They do all of their rescues through fostering so that dogs that may not be used to living in a home learn good behavior while waiting for their forever home.  Follow them on Facebook, and join their  other 26,000!!! Fans.

Which collar for Zumaya's Christmas Present?

I've spent the morning looking for a new collar for Zumaya for Christmas. My mission was to find a trendy masculine collar. It's actually a bit harder than I thought to find a neat collar for a boy dog. But I'm down to two and need help deciding! Which should I buy and put under the tree for Zumaya my black lab? Red or blue?

Both collars can be found on Etsy by Chloe's Collars.

I've been joyfully busy with orders for the holidays and wanted to share one of latest portraits. Will post the rest after the new year when I know all have been opened!

The Twins

Did a little volunteering today

I would say today has been a pretty productive Saturday! Made some brownies for the bake sale at Animal Friends Humane Society today along with their annual Easter Egg Hunt. Then I stuck around to walk a few dogs while I was there. I wanted to share two really great pups I met while I was there. And please share if you know of anyone looking for a new furry friend.

Loved her. I have to admit that I was just a little nervous when I realized Nikki was one of the only dogs left that hadn't been walked and she just happened to be a German Shepherd. Then I remembered she was probably just as nervous for me to go in and get her out of her cage. Boy was I wrong!! Easy as pie to get the leash on her and oh was she happy to go for a nice long walk. So soft, gentle with me, walks great on the leash, and just a doll! We even worked on learning sit while on our walk, and I can tell she is a real quick learner.
For more information about Nikki - Click here!

Sweet as can be! She is a very unique looking dog, they have her marked as a spaniel mix. She was too funny on the walk because she would get so excited that she would start snorting like a pig. She is so soft and after we were done walking on the muddy trail I went into her kennel to wipe her clean. She cuddle up so sweet and really enjoyed the individual attention.

More portraits to share soon I promise! One is a gift so I want to wait to post, and currently working on two more. Will post soon!

A few orders from the Holidays

The holidays are over, and I hope yours was wonderful! I enjoyed my time with my family, and lots of board game playing and puzzle fixing. I had a couple of portraits that I was saving to post until after the holidays because I didn't want to ruin any surprises.

On a sadder note, good friends of mine Joey and Jenn lost their sweet sweet Frankie to a sudden illness that was untreatable just yesterday. I did a portrait of Frankie a while back, and she was one of Zumaya's girlfriends. This news is so sudden and devastating. Frankie was just 4 years old. Thoughts and prayers go out to Joey and Jenn. Little Miss Frankie you will be deeply missed.
